Although we are proud that our company has 168 years of history and heritage it seemed lately that our web site was in need of a face lift.

Recently and in an on going process we have made huge leaps to giving the Vermont Tubbs web site a new look. I think you will agree we have come a long way.

We have a new collection on our front page called the Chelsea collection which is shown with our Averill bed in cinnamon finish on our new wood species birch. There are many new collections and individual pieces now shown that never were before. We have a custom choices tab which now shows all of our finish options as well as our hardware pulls. The government has issued new safety standards for bunk beds being sold in the US. We were made aware of these changes at the end of 2007 and have a deadline of March of 2008 to have all of the new safety codes in place.

Well, we want you to know we did not waste anytime. We have redesigned ALL of our bunk beds and have had them tested and approved to meet the new government guidelines. There is nothing more important than the safety of your children. Vermont Tubbs to Launch Water Based Paint Collection!

Are we "GREEN"? Many companies today are jumping on the band wagon and yelling out "WE ARE GREEN"……… Well one thing I know for sure is there are many shades of green…….

At Vermont Tubbs it is a constant that we focus on making our products eco friendly. Becoming 100% green is not a process that happens overnight. Let me tell you what we currently do to help our environment and to stay focused on this very important topic:

We harvest our wood from a local mill making us pretty green since the mill is in our back yard. This mill does NOT clear cut but instead it has a forest that is regenerated. For every tree they cut there is a new tree planted. We use 90% solid ash and 10% birch. That is where "sustainable" comes in to play.

We also use a water based glue. We have such low emissions from our Sherwin Williams finishes that our employees do not have to where masks while painting.

Our finishes have no formaldehydes and the filters that we use in our spray guns have no metallics. This means that the filters which once had to be removed as hazardous waste can now be thrown into a landfill.

On top of everything we are already doing, we are about to launch a collection which can be finished with water based paints and stains!
